REDDIT DOWN – UPDATE ONE: And…it’s back!
Reddit is back online after suffering a brief outage which affected thousands of users.
Reports of Reddit down on Down Detector has now fallen from a peak of almost 3,500 to just a handful.
ORIGINAL: Reddit is down with the hugely popular internet message board not working for hundreds of users around the world.
Independent outage monitor Down Detector has registered a surge in Reddit down reports today.
Out of the hundreds of Reddit down reports Down Detector has received some 82 per cent are related to the website not working.
Down Detector is an independent website that tracks social mentions around specific topics to detect when popular services go down.
On the Down Detector website Reddit users discussed the website going down, with a “sorry we couldn’t load posts for this page” error message appearing.
One Reddit user posted: “WHAT I’M GONNA DO NOW!!!! REDDIT IS DOWN!!! MY LIFE IS RUINED!!!!!!!!”
Another wrote: “Reddit is down again?”
One added: “Down and I’m getting every error in the book.”
And one said: “Getting “Service Unavailable” in jax florida”.
At its peak downdetector.com registered almost 2,000 reports of Reddit down.
So far the official Reddit Status Twitter page is yet to comment on the reported issues users have been facing.
As the outage Reddit users flocked to Twitter to see if others were experiencing issues with the site.
One Redditor tweeted: “Is REDDIT DOWN?”
While another posted: “Entirety of reddit is down”.
One added: “is reddit down or something?”
And one wrote: “Reddit is down! This may be my one chance to go outsid– oh hold up, Twitter’s still working nm”.
