Galaxy Note 9 launch countdown – UK price, release date, specs revealed

fans have a big afternoon ahead as the Korean technology firm finally reveals its new Galaxy Note 9 smartphone to the world.

This all-new device is expected to be their most powerful to date with rumours suggesting a phone that will be packed with upgrades and new features.

So, if you love all the Note series has to offer here’s everything you need to know about today’s big Galaxy Unpacked launch event.

WHAT TIME DOES THE GALAXY NOTE 9 UNPACKED EVENT START?

Samsung is revealing all in New York at one of its famous Unpacked events.

The big unveiling is expected to start at 11am local time which is 4pm BST.

WHAT WILL BE NEW ON THE GALAXY NOTE 9?

There’s no official confirmation from Samsung about the Note 9, or its features, but speculation is rife that this phablet is receiving some decent upgrades.

It’s thought this new smartphone will continue with its giant edge-to-edge Infinity display that will stretch and curve across the entire phone.

Although the design isn’t thought to be that different from the previous Note 8 there could be one big change to the rear of the phone.

Samsung was heavily criticised for the placement of the fingerprint scanner on the Note 8 – which was positioned alongside the camera lens.

Leaked pictures now show this vital sensor has been altered with it now placed in a more convenient position under the lens.

Along with this slightly improved design the Note 9 is also expected to feature a new dual-lens camera, all-glass case and power from Qualcomm’s 845 processor.

A larger 4,000mAh battery should help to make this device last a little longer and all signs point to a new S Pen which will include Bluetooth technology.

Finally, it’s thought that Samsung could launch a top-end Note 9 with a whopping 512GB of internal memory.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

We’ll have to wait for the event to get underway before we find out full pricing but it’s unlikely the Note 9 won’t be a bargain.

Some reports have suggested that the most expensive version of the Note 9 will cost in excess of £1,000.

Full details will be revealed during today’s keynote so watch this space.

WHEN CAN I BUY ONE?

That’s unclear right now but we’ll bring full release date news as soon as it’s announced.

However, with an iPhone launch expected within weeks, it’s unlikely that Samsung will wait too long before releasing this phone to the public.

WHAT ELSE WILL SAMSUNG ANNOUNCE TODAY?

Today’s Unpacked is all about the Note 9 but Samsung may also reveal an updated wearable.

The Gear S4 could be announced later today and include some big changes including a new name.

Many experts are speculating that Samsung’s new smartwatch will be called the Galaxy Watch and could include a new design, bigger battery and improved health tracking features.
