Galaxy Note 9 leak suggests new phablet will be the fastest Samsung phone ever

The Galaxy Note 9 is one of the most highly anticipated Android flagships of the year and is expected to arrive boasting the latest and greatest specifications.

A new leak by WinFuture, spotted by 9to5Mac, claims the phablet will come in two varieties when it launches.

The publication insists one version of the Galaxy Note 9 will feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage while the second comes with a whopping 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

Such a claim appears to line up with teases from Samsung in the build up to the new hardware launch.

The South Korean tech giant recently uploaded a series of videos to YouTube hinting the device will feature greatly-improved storage and will be incredibly fast.

Clips entitled “phone too slow? A lot can change in a day” and “never enough storage? A lot can change in a day” show users craving greatly improved internals.

The higher-tier model of the Galaxy Note 9 will sell for £1,099 while the slightly downgraded version of the device will retail for £899, according to the German outlet.

WinFuture also posted a slew of advertising material it claims also leaked from the South Korean tech giant.

The documents show an S Pen boasting Bluetooth functionality that was previously claimed by renowned tipster Ice Universe.

One of the sheets promoting the new accessory feature reads: “The all new S Pen now boasts powerful Bluetooth technology, letting you press a button to take control of your camera, presentations, and apps without touching your phone.

“While drawing, taking notes, and sending Live messages with the S Pen is as intuitive and natural as a pen and paper, thanks to the fine tip and 4096 pressure levels.”

The material also claims the Note 9 will feature the same “Dual Aperture” lens present in the Galaxy S9 and S9+.

An “Intelligent Camera” is also discussed that appears to use artificial intelligence (AI) to adjust camera settings when looking at particular subjects.

The promotional document reads: “New revolutionary features make it nearly impossible to take a bad shot.

“The Galaxy Note 9 intelligently recognises what you’re looking at, optimising colour settings like contrast, white balance, exposure and more.

“And by detecting blinks and blurs, you can reshoot while the moment’s right.”

The Galaxy Note 9 will also tout support for Samsung’s DeX software that attempts to harness the device’s power to replicate PC-like features when plugged into a monitor.

However the promotional material shows the phone performing the function without needing a dock that was required to perform the functionality on the Note 8, Galaxy S8 and S9.

A USB-C to HDMI cable is used instead.

Samsung fans will not have to wait long to see if the latest leaks come to fruition.

The company’s “Unpacked” event will take place in New York City tomorrow.
