Instagram not working: Users report picture feed not updating on social network

Instagram fans are reporting issues with the social network, with reported problems including the feed not working and not updating.

Independent outage monitor Down Detector has seen a rise in Instagram down reports today.

Out of the reported problems, some 76 per cent were related to the Instagram news feed.

As the issues hit Instagram users flocked to rival social network Twitter to report problems with the photo sharing site.

One fan tweeted: “@instagram instagram feed not updating. last post showing is from 17 hours ago”.

While another wrote: “@instagram having troubles with my account not updating photos of my followers can you help”.

One added: “is anyone else’s ig feed not updating? I don’t get the “couldn’t refresh feed” message, I just keep seeing everything I’ve already seen last night and not new posts….. @instagram”.

And one posted: “Anyone else finding their instagram feed is not updating? Posts at top are 5 days old. Tried reinstalling app but no luck #instagramnotworking @instagram”.

Express.co.uk has contacted Instagram to ask for comment about the reported issues.

The news comes after Facebook, who own Instagram, suffered a major outage on Friday.

Down Detector received tens of thousands of reports of Facebook down as the social network suffered an outage across the world.

At the time a Facebook spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble connecting to Facebook and it has since been resolved.”

At the peak of the outage Down Detector was registering over 22,000 reports of Facebook down.

When the Facebook outage hit users flocked to Twitter to report issues with the site.

One tweeted: “First thing we do when we suspect Facebook is down? Head to Twitter, of course.”

While another posted: “Down goes Facebook! Down goes Facebook!! #facebookdown”.

One added: “Facebook down across the world…what’s up?”

And one wrote: “#facebookdown or it is just me??”
