Avengers Infinity War: Truth behind THIS Thanos scene after the Snap – more Gamora ahead?

After Thanos initiates the Snap and wipes out half of humanity, fans see a brief scene of him coming face-to-face with the younger version of Gamora.

It had been speculated by some that this was a dream sequence, and by others that it was the Soul World.

That latter scenario was, it seems, correct.

The duo confirmed during the Blu-ray commentary for the Marvel film that it’s indeed the Soul World where Thanos comes face-to-face with the adoptive daughter whose life he ended in pursuit of the Soul Stone.

In the original comics, the Soul World is where the souls of people killed by that particular Infinity Stone are trapped.

The fact it was seen so briefly could be a precursor to it featuring much more prominently in the next film – so could that explain how we see more Gamora in Avengers 4, especially as Zoe Saldana – who played her as an adult – is confirmed to be returning for reshoots?

Time will tell, but for now the fresh revelations from the commentary continue to be of interest.

The directors and writers also confirmed that Valkyrie – played in Thor: Ragnarok by Tessa Thompson – escaped the Asgardians’ ship before Thanos and his team started piling up the bodies.

“I think we should say that several Asgardians have escaped,” Stephen McFeely said.

Joe Russo added: “Several Asgardians have escaped. I have gone on record saying Valkyrie has escaped with some of the Asgardians.”

Very few plot points about next year’s Avengers 4 are currently know, with even the title still shrouded in mystery.

What is known is that the likes of Captain Marvel – played by Brie Larson – will play an integral part in it, after she was strongly alluded to in the end credits sequence.

Her own solo movie will introduce her to the MCU upon its release next March.

Avengers 4 is out on April 26, 2019.
