Square Enix NEWS: Final Fantasy 7 update, Kingdom Hearts reveal, Just Cause 4 multiplayer

Kingdom Hearts 3 developer Square Enix has revealed more about the game’s run time.

A new report on Geek.com suggests that the upcoming Disney and Square adventure will be the biggest in the series yet.

The initial report claimed that Kingdom Hearts 3 would take players between 40-50 hours to complete.

Venturing off the beaten path and exploring the game’s secrets could potentially take that number up to 80 hours.

Square Enix has since downplayed the report, telling fans that an exact run time is yet to be finalised.

Either way, Kingdom Hearts 3 looks like it will be a big game with hours and hours of entertainment.

New Final Fantasy 7 Remake details may have been revealed as part of a recent job listing.

The description for the role describes the Final Fantasy 7 Remake as an “action game”.

The gameplay trailer for the FF7 Remake showed an old school combat menu system appear during certain scenes.

So it was thought that the Final Fantasy 7 Remake could feature a modern version of the turn-based combat featured in the original.

However, the new job description may indicate that the FF7 Remake will feature an action-orientated combat system similar to FF15.

FF7 Remake director Tetsuya Nomura previously spoke about the approach he is taking to developing the battle system for the upcoming PS4 game.

Nomura-san said: “Battles are not command-based, they’re action-based.”

Speaking about the game’s cover system, he added: “Regarding cover actions, there are places where they can be done on the map, but they are not required.

“Because it’s seamless, I showed that there can be actions in response to various scenes.”

Just Cause 4 developer Avalanche Studios has ruled out multiplayer for the upcoming release.

With a huge world to explore and lots of inventive ways to eliminate enemies, Just Cause 4 seems like a great fit for multiplayer.

But speaking exclusively to Express Online, executive producer Adam Davidson said that the studio was focus solely on perfecting the single-player campaign.

“This time around we’re focused entirely on putting an excellent single-player experience together, so as of right now we’re just focused on that,” he said.

Davidson said the studio would look at it in the future if there was enough demand, but there are no plans as of right now.

Just Cause 4 has a December 4 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The game is developed using the brand new Apex Engine, which will allow for a wider range of weather effects.

This includes tornados that tear through the world leaving a trail of destruction.
