Alisson: WATCH Liverpool star make incredible pass to set up Milner goal, fans excited

Liverpool fans have had to cope with short glimpses of Alisson in training since the club announced the £65million transfer two weeks ago.

But Alisson finally pulled on a Liverpool shirt in a match this evening as Jurgen Klopp’s side faced Napoli in Dublin.

Reds fans were somewhat familiar with Alisson when Liverpool faced Roma in the Champions League last year.

He has been lauded for his ability with the ball at his feet.

And it didn’t take long for Liverpool fans to see why the 25-year-old’s distribution has been heavily praised.

After just five minutes, Alisson picked up the ball inside his box and sprayed an incredible 60-yard pass into the path of an onrushing Mohamed Salah with Milner finishing off the move to give Liverpool a 1-0 lead early on.

Liverpool fans were clearly impressed by the Brazilian’s first touch as a Red.

One supporter tweeted: “Quality ball forward from Alisson to start an attack – love this guy already!”

Another posted: “This ball from Alisson to Salah is exactly what we paid £66.8m for. Allison’s distribution is some of the best in football. The ability to pick apart an entire defence with one pass.”

A third said: “That ball from Alisson!? Christ, he’s out attacking midfielder, isn’t he!”

They swiftly doubled their advantage when Milner turned provider five minutes later when he whipped in a cross with Georginio Wijnaldum rising highest to head home.

This is Liverpool’s penultimate friendly before starting the new Premier League campaign at home to West Ham next Sunday (1.30pm).

Before that though their final pre-season friendly comes against Torino on Tuesday evening (7.30pm) at Anfield.

The transfer window closes on Thursday for English sides hoping to bring in any more bodies.

But Jurgen Klopp has suggested there will be no more incomings following the summer signings of Alisson, Xheridan Shaqiri, Fabinho and Naby Keita.

When asked earlier this week whether Liverpool would be looking to bolster their defensive options, he said: “This summer? No.

“I’m happy with our players to be honest. I don’t see the need.

“Joe Gomez brings a lot of things that we don’t find on the transfer market to be honest.”
