Captain Marvel’s story began as an officer in the United States Air Force in the 1960s, but at this time she was known only as Carol Danvers.
She worked alongside a man named Dr Walter Lawson but in reality, he was a Kree alien ally named Mar-Vell.
The Kree are species of blue aliens with technological and scientific prowess far superior to that of humans.
How did Captain Marvel get her powers?

It was during this explosion when Mar-Vell went to protect Carol and in the aftermath, his DNA fused with her own.

Carol Danvers’ transformation to Captain Marvel came with a plethora of powers.
Some of these powers include flight (at six times the speed of sound), superhuman strength, durability and the ability to shoot concussive energy bursts from her fingertips.
From her life prior to the accident, Captain Marvel is also a skilled pilot and expert with hand-to-hand combatant.
Avengers 4 has already set up Captain Marvel as the saving grace for the Avengers in the next instalment of the series.
Some of Captain Marvel’s powers could be invaluable to the fate of the Avengers.
One of these powers is her ability to enter a state called Binary.
As Binary, she could tap the energy of a “white hole”, allowing full control and manipulation of stellar energies, and therefore control over heat, the electromagnetic spectrum and gravity.
Attaining light speed travel and the ability to survive in the vacuum of space were also possible for Captain Marvel in the Binary state.
