Crystal Palace transfer news: Max Meyer medical TODAY, another deal stalls

Crystal Palace have so far been relatively quiet in the summer transfer market, bringing in Vicente Guaita on a free from Getafe.

But with little over a week left, Roy Hodgson is desperate to secure more signings and the central midfield positions has been one area of he is keen to improve.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Yohan Cabaye have left the club, leaving a gaping hole in Palace’s squad.

However, it looks as though they are set to announce a deal for one-time Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool target Meyer.

That’s according to The Guardian, who claim Palace have held productive talks with the free agent.

Meyer, 22, left Schalke at the end of last season after failing to agree terms on a new deal.

It is said Meyer is unlikely to be Palace’s last addition in the summer transfer window.

But one player who the Eagles have supposedly decided against making a move for is West Ham’s Cheikhou Kouyate.

The report states Kouyate’s wage demands has put off Palace from making a move.

They are also interested in bolstering their attacking options and a loan move for Tammy Abraham could be on the cards.
