Chelsea transfer news: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic reveals where he will play next season

Milinkovic-Savic has attracted admirers from all over Europe by establishing himself as one of Serie A’s top rising stars.

Chelsea recently emerged as a potential destination for the midfielder who figured for Serbia at the World Cup in Russia.

Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been credited with interest in Milinkovic-Savic too.

It was speculated that the 23-year-old would signal whether he’s staying at Lazio by deciding whether to turn up for routine medical tests at their training camp.

And, not only did Milinkovic-Savic make an appearance but, he has revealed where he will playing his football next season.

“Of course I’m staying, do you not see that I’m here?” said Milinkovic-Savic, when a fan asked him about his future.

Milinkovic-Savic’s decision could see Chelsea push ahead with a move for Arsenal ace Aaron Ramsey.

Ramsey is stalling on signing a new contract at the Emirates and Maurizio Sarri has eyed him up.

Milinkovic-Savic’s revelation will come as a boost to Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi, who suggested he felt calm amid the incessant transfer speculation.

“I asked for Alejandro Gomez as a substitute for Felipe Anderson, then we analysed the situation and we preferred to take [Joaquin] Correa, a young player who will give us so much because he boasts physical and technical qualities,” said Inzaghi, when asked about Lazio’s transfer business.

“The purchase of [Milan] Badelj, in this sense, it’s important because he’s an international football player who has great enthusiasm for having arrived on such a team and is also that player who was missing in the midfield.

“There are many voices around Milinkovic-Savic, he can change the games alone. I spoke with Sergej, he wanted to arrive two days earlier in Auronzo [at Lazio’s training camp], but I gave him two more days of holiday. I feel calm.

“Anything could happen [next season]. Our desire is to do well as in the last years, we will fight with everyone.”
