Fortnite Android release date: Big download news ahead of Mobile beta launch

Fortnite on Mobile continues to pay dividends to a development team who has championed crossplay and account sharing.

The revenue created by the game on iOS shows how well received Fortnite Battle Royale is on handheld devices.

According to the latest news, Fortnite Mobile generated $2 million per day, during the first 10 days of season 5.

Recent data suggests that mobile users have spent $150 million on Fortnite purchases, and that number is only going to rise.

That’s because the Fortnite Android release date has been scheduled for this summer and could be arriving quite soon for some mobile users.

A new report out this week suggests that the Android port of the hit Battle Royale game will launch first on one device.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9, followed by a full release later that month.

Fortnite will reportedly be available as a timed exclusive for 30 days on the Note 9, an interesting way of attempting to boost sales.

The good news is that a small number of Fortnite fans could be playing the Android port very soon.

However, the bad news for everyone else is that the Fortnite Android release may not arrive on every other device until late September.

According to 9to5Google, Samsung will also try to entice Fortnite fans by offering V-Buck rewards to pre-order customers.

The report claims that Note 9 pre-order customers will receive free V-bucks worth between $100-$150.

The currency used in Fortnite, V-bucks can be traded for new skins, emotes and other items.

Pre-order customers with no interest in Fortnite will reportedly receive a set of wireless headphones.

A launch like this would probably serve as Epic Games’ beta for the Android version, although there’s always the chance of something more constructed in the future.

The new report follows news of Android game files being found in the latest version of Fortnite, which launched earlier this month.

The file names were labelled Android_Engine, Android_Game and Android_RuntimeOptions.

What’s also interesting is that these files are also labelled with a ‘release 5.0’ tag.

So it would fit with the idea that a Fortnite Android launch will happen during season 5 of the game.

Epic Games have said in the past that they hope to launch Fortnite on Android devices during summer 2018.

That technically gives them until September 23, a date which has now been attached as the time when the full launch could take place.

With that period in mind, it seems pretty likely that this will happen during season 5 of Fortnite Battle Royale.

Season 5 will run for just over ten weeks, which will cover nearly the whole summer period.

There’s a chance that Epic Games could wait until the official launch of Season 6 to incorporate Android players into Battle Royale.

But looking at it from a purely technical view, this would seem like a tough choice for Epic Games to make.

Apart from the fact that fans have been waiting a long time to start playing on their Android phones, there’s also the fact that the end of seasons can also see the most server traffic.

As always, most of the information above is based on estimations and reports, so it should all be taken with a pinch of salt.

Fans will want to keep an eye out for any major announcements in the coming weeks, as something will need to be revealed soon.
