Princess Eugenie wedding: The reason Kate Middleton may have to drop out if this happens

Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank, 31, will take place on 12 October this year.

The couple, who became engaged earlier this year, will wed at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The wedding is expected to be attended by most of the royal family, including Eugenie’s cousin, Prince William, 36, and his wife Kate Middleton.

However, there is an important event occurring in Kate’s own family which might clash with the wedding.

Her sister, Pippa Middleton, 34, is due to give birth to her first child with husband James Matthews this coming October.

She officially announced she was through her first trimester last month in her Waitrose column.

This means the due date is at some point in October, although the exact date has not been announced.

Pippa will have fallen pregnant long after Princess Eugenie’s wedding date was set on 2 February this year.

The sisters are believed to be very close, with Pippa famously serving as maid of honour at Kate’s 2011 wedding to Prince William.

Pippa was pictured driving to Kensington Palace the day after Kate gave birth to Prince Louis earlier this year.

If Kate wants to be at her sister’s side at her home in London, it is to be hoped the timing does not clash with Eugenie’s wedding in Windsor.

Meanwhile, it is extremely unlikely Pippa will make an appearance at the wedding.

Pippa attended Meghan Markle’s wedding at the same location in the earlier stages of her pregnancy.

However, she will be nine-months-pregnant and due any day by the time Princess Eugenie’s wedding comes around.

Last week, it was revealed Princess Eugenie had copied Meghan Markle by inviting members of the public to her wedding.

It was announced that the couple are inviting members of the public to the precincts of Windsor Castle.

Meghan and Harry also invited members of the public to their nuptials earlier this year, welcoming a staggering 2,640 people into the grounds of Windsor Castle.

With their wedding set to be more low-key than that of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Eugenie and Jack have invited a more modest 1,200 members of the public to the wedding.

Once at Windsor Castle, those invited will be able to listen to a live broadcast of the marriage service and watch the start if the procession as the couple departs.

The announcement was made yesterday on The Royal Family’s social media accounts, with the palace writing: “Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank would like to invite members of the public to join their wedding on 12 October 2018, to attend inside the Precincts of Windsor Castle.

“Members of the public who would like to attend can fill in an application form (for more information see the link in our bio on our profile page).
