Man Utd transfer news: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp makes prediction about signings

Manchester United fans are growing increasingly frustrated at their lack of transfer business, despite already welcome Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are understood to be pursuing deals for Chelsea and Tottenham players Willian and Toby Alderweireld.

Manchester United have, however, already missed out on Gareth Bale, with the Wales international choosing to stay at Real Madrid.

Liverpool fans have been spoilt this summer over on Merseyside, with Klopp landing Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker.

And, despite Mourinho hitting out at their spending, Liverpool boss Klopp expects United to accelerate their business over the next few days.

“Jose can say what he wants to say, I can say the same,” he said, ahead of their pre-season showdown with United.

“I’m not too interested in Man Utd. I’m sure they’ll do business in the next few days.

“We are responsible for our fans, our owners, nobody else. We are ambitious, we never said something different, we have to deliver and we know that.

“A big part of the job is to play football people like, now we’re in a situation where we want to make the next step, the opponents don’t sleep, we know that.”

Klopp also gave his thoughts on the transfer window shutting, with the August 9 deadline looming large.

“I think the idea in general was good,” the German added.

“Then we did it, and nobody else pretty much in the world did. And we did it in a World Cup year, which means you get the boys arriving back three days before season starts. That’s not perfect.

“We did our business pretty early, at least parts of it.

“It’s strange, in other countries, clubs are waiting but abroad no one can wait.”
