Chelsea transfer news: Gonzalo Higuain deal warning as AC Milan target Juventus striker

That’s the verdict of Italian agent Giuseppe Accardi, who believes prising players away from Juventus may prove tough for the Blues.

Chelsea are set to splash the cash over the next couple of weeks as they look to make up for a slow first half of the transfer window.

And Higuain has been lined up as a replacement for hit-and-miss striker Alvaro Morata, who could be on his way to Milan.

Higuain’s Juventus team-mates Daniele Rugani and Mattia Caldara are also in Maurizio Sarri’s sights this summer.

Accardi suggests Chelsea might not have it all their own way as they look to get their targets on-board though.

“It is obvious that they want to do some shopping in Italy but it is never easy to buy at Juventus,” Accardi told RMC Sport.

“One of the players that Sarri would like is Higuain, but for which there is the Milan competition.

“Now the Rossoneri [Milan] with Elliott have acquired a different dimension. The move to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus has awakened everyone.”

Meanwhile, Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge revealed this week that Olivier Giroud could follow Morata in heading out of the exit door at Chelsea.

“This one is out of the blue. Giroud was established as Chelsea’s main striker towards the end of the season,” said Bridge.

“It really depends as well on Chelsea’s pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain. They have made initial contact with Juventus over signing him.

“If Giroud goes the other way, they would hope to do a permanent deal for both the players. I don’t think they’d want any loans.

“Atletico’s [Madrid] primary target is Nikola Kalinic but he’s still waiting for a decision from AC Milan over whether they will allow him to leave as he’s been away at the World Cup.

“Higuain knows Sarri really well so that would make sense and they don’t seem completely sold on Morata.”
