LOCKDOWN at Tampa airport, Florida as bomb squad investigate SUSPICIOUS package

“The area has been cleared of passengers and the Tampa bomb squad is on site.”

Passengers who were kept on planes during the lockdown were being released to other areas of the airport.

No passengers were allowed to move between Terminal C and the rest of the airport.

An airport’s spokesman claimed the person whose bag was being investigated at the checkpoint was not being allowed to fly.

Southwest flights from LaGuardia, Baltimore and Chicago will move to Airside F to deplane.

Tampa International airport has since confirmed police have determined the bag found at the Airside C checkpoint is not a threat.

It wrote on twitter: “Passengers are moving freely between the Airside and Main Terminal and normal operations are resuming.”
