WWE news: John Cena makes MAJOR revelation ahead of imminent wrestling return

Cena is the WWE’s biggest star and also one of the most polarising figures in the history of the industry as he still gets booed in every arena he competes at despite his army of loyal fans.

The Champ’s critics insist that he should adopt a meaner character and that his current gimmick has turned stale, however the 16-time world champion claims that a heel turn will never happen.

But the same doesn’t go for his movie career as the ex-WWE Champion will play a villain in the upcoming Transformers spin-off Bumblebee and seems keen to take on more similar roles.

According to Wrestling Inc, the former World Heavyweight Champion attended Comic-Con and was asked how it felt to go from a hero to a villain.

Cena replied: “Well, I couldn’t help but notice you paused to insert cold hearted to that sentence so that may be a bit presumptuous.

“To actually answer your question, I think it is a really great opportunity. I have had a great career in the WWE and for that entire time I have been the good guy and that kind of went into my films so far, and now it doesn’t seem like my character in the WWE will ever evolve into that bad guy role that perhaps a lot of people have wanted.

“So this is kind of a way for my fans from that aspect of my career to see that side of me.

“So, don’t expect heel John Cena in the WWE – that’s Inside Baseball talk for some of you – but it means bad guy John Cena isn’t happening there, so this is that chance for me.”

Cena hasn’t performed in WWE since the Greatest Royal Rumble three months ago in Saudi Arabia where he beat legendary rival Triple H.

His next WWE appearance is scheduled to take place at WWE Super Show-Down on October 6 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.

Rumours suggest he may also compete at SummerSlam on August 19 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York where he may rekindle his rivalry with The Undertaker.
