PUBG Mobile servers DOWN: New Tencent update news for iOS and Android

Tencent has confirmed that new downtime has been scheduled for tonight and is now ongoing.

This will be to make way for PUBG update 0.7.0. which has been in the beta testing phase for some time.

PUBG Mobile servers are down for an extended length of maintenance, meaning that some players may even miss logging into the game tonight.

The new PUBG update will be going live after the server downtime, although the exact timing is not known.

Tencent has left a 24hr period in the past to launch their patches, so update 0.7.0 might not go live until July 24.

The development team behind the hit Battle Royale mobile port are expected to offer more news following the lengthy downtime.

It has been confirmed that PUBG Mobile servers will be down for around eight hours, to make way for the new changes.

This is new information being shared via a maintenance notice, which states that PUBG server downtime will begin at 00:00 UTC, on July 23.

British Summer Time (BST) is usually 1 hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), however, there’s a chance that things could kick off earlier.

The full message from Tencent reads: “PUBG Mobile will be taken offline for maintenance from 00:00 to 08:00 (UTC) on July 23.

“Service may resume sooner or later depending on maintenance progress.”

If scheduled maintenance does stick to the timeline provided by the support team, PUBG Mobile servers should be back up around 9am, BST.

The last line is very important as maintenance with the PUBG Mobile has been known to differ greatly from what has been initially shared.

NEW PUBG MOBILE UPDATE

As mentioned above, a new beta of the game has been available to download from the Google Play Store this past month and provides a short list of things being changed.

A new mode, weapon and UI mechanic are listed, with more likely included before the official launch.

Players have been able to test a new mode called War, which is described as a fast version of the existing Arcade Mode.

War Mode also looks set to be only accessible during certain times of the day, although it’s unclear if this is something just being tested during the beta.

There will also be a new SLR Sniper Rifle added, and a new portable Closet, which could work well with the Royale Pass.

This new feature will allow players to change how they look during an active game, which isn’t something that’s currently available in PUBG Mobile.

The official PUBG beta patch notes can be found below:

  • Arcade Mode – War – A new, faster-paced variation of Arcade mode.
  • New Weapon – Added the SLR Sniper Rifle.
  • Portable Closet – Players can now put outfits in their Portable Closets and instantly change clothes during combat.

The new update is expected to go live on both Android and iOS platforms at around the same time.

Past patches have seen delays between platforms, leaving players unable to crossplay during that time.

However, that isn’t expected to happen anymore; however, it will be worth it for fans to keep an eye on the game’s official social media channels for more information.
