Fortnite Week 3 challenges: Less basketball hoops, more treasure maps

Epic Games will be moving onto week 3 of season 5 very soon, and we already know a few of the challenges.

Fortnite Battle Royale will see a list of new tasks released on Thursday, July 26, giving players a chance at bagging more exp.

And like we have seen in the past, the new Fortnite week 3 challenges have leaked online.

It should be noted that while most of the seven newly leaked challenges will likely remain the same, some might change before Thursday.

Epic Games sometimes switch things up to keep players on their toes, knowing full well most fans read the leaked content earlier in the week.

And from what has been found, it looks like it will be less finding all those basketball hoops, and more about hunting down battle stars using Treasure Maps.

The leaked Fortnite challenges for week 3 can be found below:

  • Deal damage to passenger vehicles (0/1000)
  • Destroy specific targets (?/?)
  • Use a Launchpad (0/1)
  • Search Chests in Fatal Fields (0/7)
  • Follow the treasure map in Flush Factory (0/1)
  • Explosive eliminations (0/3)
  • Eliminate Opponents in Haunted Hills (0/3)

As you can probably guess, Epic Games will need to expand on the “Destroy specific targets” challenge when they release it later this week.

So it’s currently unclear what fans will need to hunt down in-game, which could include any number of objects.

Data miners might find an updated list of challenges before launch later this week, so it will be worth keeping an eye out for more information.

One of the harder and more unique season 5 challenges will be dealing damage to a passenger in a vehicle.

Unless Epic Games are adding something special for this task, it would seem likely that the ATK will be needed.

And that mean staking out several spots on the map, before needing to work out just how many encounters will be required to rack up the damage required.

BASKETBALL HOOPS WEEK 2

One of week 2’s exclusive Battle Pass challenges tasks players with scoring baskets on different hoops.

To complete this challenge, players will need to have the basketball equipped from the emote section.

You unlock the basketball toy by reaching tier 11 in the Battle Pass. You can shoot a basketball by selecting it as an emote.

With the basketball toy equipped, you’ll need to head to the different hoop locations featured in the gallery, and then make a jump shot.

You need to score five different baskets to complete the challenge, although you don’t need to do this in a single game.

As part of the big Season 5 update, Epic Games has made three of the weekly challenges available for free and the other four challenges exclusive to Battle Pass users.

The challenges are separated into hard and regular tiers of difficulty.

The hard difficulty Fortnite challenges net players ten Battle Stars, while the regular tasks reward fans with five Battle Stars.

Earning Battle Stars levels up your Battle Pass, which is how you unlock all of the rewards on offer.

Season 5 also features bonus challenges that will net players specific items. The Road Trip challenges are similar to Blockbuster challenges from Season 4.

The Road Trip tier rewards players with special loading screens for fully completing all weekly challenges. These loading screens feature hidden Battle Star clues.

Drift Challenges, meanwhile, reward players with new costume pieces for earning XP. Earning enough XP to complete four out of five tiers unlocks a special Harvesting Tool.
