Micheal Schumacher latest news: Family buys £27MILLION mansion in Mallorca

erman tabloid Bild said she had purchased the exclusive property on the upmarket estate of Las Brisas near Andratx in the southwest of the island so she could spend holidays there with her children and friends.

The house was bought by building magnate Perez in 2005 but he put it up for sale last year after the death of his wife Mari Angeles Sandoval.

The villa is part of a 15,000 square metre estate which boasts two swimming pools, a helipad, a gym and a huge palm-tree-fringed garden.

Schumacher, the only driver in history to win seven F1 World Championships, was placed in a medically-induced coma after a life-threatening skiing accident in December 2013 in the French Alps.

He was relocated to the family home on the shores of Lake Geneva in September 2014 where he continues to receive medical treatment and rehabilitation.

Updates on his health have been few and far between.

It has been reported he is looked after by a 15-strong medical team, with his care costing POUNDS 115,000 per week.

Majorcan papers have reported on the property deal, but have cited Bild as the source.

The May 2012 death from cancer of Florentino Perez’s wife was said to be one of the reasons Florentino Perez might have decided to put the property up for sale when it emerged last year it was on the market.

The couple used to be regular visitors to the house – called Villa Yasmin – but the Real Madrid president was rarely seen jetting to the island in the summer after she died.

The gated estate it is built on is home to just a dozen houses and offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean from the Puig de Marmacen mountain.

Selina Scott, the former host of the BBC’s first breakfast show, was said to have owned a home on the same estate around the time it was reported Florentino, 71, had put the 1990s-built property on the market.

Upmarket real estate agency Engel&Volkers were said to be managing the sale.
