Fortnite Save the World free code: Epic Games reveal new roadmap ahead of update

Epic Games are planning to release their original fort-building mode to a significant new audience, later this year.

Fortnite Save the World has a dedicated fanbase which hopes to see the game leave the beta phase and fully launch in 2018.

And Epic Games has also announced that STW will be following in the footsteps of its Battle Royale counterpart in one significant way – adopting the free-to-play model.

Free codes are scheduled to drop sometime in 2018, although no set month has been confirmed.

This will mean massive changes for Save the World, which has built a dedicated community since its launch.

Going free-to-play will include some significant boosts for fans hoping to carry on playing it as their main Fortnite experience.

More players will mean an easier time of starting games, but it will also come with a few drawbacks.

Save the World allow players to earn V-Bucks, and use them in Battle Royale.

And one thing STW fans are hoping to avoid is more players who are just there to farm for Battle Royale skins.

Over 180,000 people follow the official Reddit page, which just saw a big announcement posted.

Epic Games have released the latest STW Roadmap update, confirming what will be coming next to the game.

This will include the first act of Canny Valley, as well as more news on Challenge the Horde mode and Fortnite birthday celebrations.

Update 5.1 of Fortnite STW will include the next chapter in the STW story, which consists of a lot of new content.

This sounds like it will be going live later this week, probably on Tuesday, July 24.

The new Canny Valley content is split up into three parts and will be available to everyone who wants to try the new content.

Challenge the Horde mode rewards are also getting a boost in the 5.1 update, which should make the mode more rewarding.

This will be followed by a new horde quest, which will make its debut near the end of the month.

The Fortnite Birthday celebrations will include new Birthday Llamas, which will offer some unique rewards.

Fans can earn tickets to spend on Birthday Llamas which can contain Heroes and weapons from every event this year (not including quest rewards).

They can also complete the Fortnite Birthday questline in Save the World and earn the Birthday Brigade Ramirez Hero.

Unfortunately, the new Fortnite Save the World roadmap did not include any news on the launch of the free codes.

However, there have been rumours that something could be announced during Season 5 of the game.

Midway through Fortnite season 4 one leaker made some bold claims about Fortnite season 5.

They claimed that Save The World would be free by the time that Fortnite season 5 ends.

However, they also made claims about other events happening around season 5 that hasn’t occurred.

So at the moment this rumour remains just speculation and should be taken with a big pinch of salt.
