Hazard in Real Madrid decision

Eden Hazard has reportedly decided he wants out of Chelsea because this could be his only chance to join Real Madrid.

Hazard is on the La Liga giants’ list of targets following Cristiano Ronaldo’s mega-money move to Juventus.

And he’s said to be keen to swap Stamford Bridge for the Bernabeu following six years in west London.

Bleacher Report claim Hazard has come to the conclusion he needs to move now because he may not get the opportunity again.

Hazard’s representatives have apparently been in touch with Real to let them know the 27-year-old is eager to link up with them.

Salah to Real Madrid

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could quit Anfield for Real Madrid despite signing a new deal, admits John Barnes.

“In modern football, you don’t worry about later down the line,” Barnes told Express Sport.

“Contracts mean nothing anyway. If some club bids £200m, I’m sure with or without a six-year contract, they would possibly look at that.

“The lack of a release clause means nothing, as do long contracts.

“Lets be happy that we’ve got him for next season and hopefully the season after that. Lets think about next year and he’ll be with us, which is fantastic.

“When you have top players, all clubs have to think short term. You can’t worry about what will happen down the line.”

Pogba to leave Man Utd?

Manchester United may have to be in the market for another midfielder this summer with Paul Pogba reportedly keen to rejoin Juventus.

Pogba has experienced plenty of ups and downs since returning to Old Trafford in a then world-record deal two years ago.

And Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim he has set his sights on a move back to the Allianz Stadium, where he enjoyed a trophy-laden stint.

Juventus’ hopes of snaring Pogba depend on bringing in a bumper fee for Miralem Pjanic – a target for Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester City.

If the Serie A giants receive the offer they want, they could launch a raid for Pogba and therefore prompt United into action.

One more Liverpool deal

Liverpool must sign a centre-back partner for Virgil van Dijk before the transfer window shuts.

That’s the verdict of former Chelsea ace Craig Burley, who’s hailed Jurgen Klopp’s capture of Alisson Becker.

“Good business,” said Burley, reflecting on Alisson’s £65m arrival from Roma.

“It depends what [Manchester] United do between now and the transfer window. I like the look of Liverpool.

“I still think they need a centre-half to go alongside Van Dijk, another centre-half. That is still a weak area for me. But, great business.

“A couple of years ago Alisson was second choice to [Wojciech] Szczesny, so it’s been a bit of a revival over the last couple of years. But he has been good.”

Chelsea eye bargain deal

Chelsea are reportedly lining up soon-to-depart Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart to replace the outgoing Thibaut Courtois.

Maurizio Sarri is set to overhaul the squad he inherited from Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge this summer.

But one of the enforced changes he is going to have to make is between the sticks with Courtois on his way to Real Madrid.

Courtois has opted against signing a new contract at Chelsea and chiefs have decided to cash-in rather than lose him on a free next year.

The Sun claim Hart is being eyed up to replace the Belgian, with City willing to do business around the £5m mark for the departing stopper.

Seven Arsenal exits

Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for seven first-team squad members before the transfer window slams shut, reports claim.

Unai Emery is busy gearing up for his first season at the Emirates having succeeded the long-serving Arsene Wenger.

And he’s said to be happy to continue freshening up his squad by waving goodbye to a cluster of well-known names

Goal claim Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi, Danny Welbeck, Petr Cech, David Ospina, Carl Jenkinson and Lucas Perez could all leave Arsenal.

Emery, meanwhile, has told transfer chiefs to focus on luring a left-back and a pacy winger to north London.
