Arsenal transfer news: Kingsley Coman drops massive hint over Bayern Munich exit

The Bayern Munich star has been linked with a surprise Gunners move with Unai Emery reportedly keen to recruit a speedy winger.

Arsenal have only Alex Iwobi and Reiss Nelson out wide despite boasting the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette up top.

Emery has already welcomed Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

And that has seen the ex-Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla boss use up the entirety of his summer budget.

But with several player sales still expected, the north London club have been linked with France winger Coman as they plan further recruitment in their new era.

The 22-year-old was in and out of the Bayern team last term before a ligament tear cut his season short and denied him a spot in his country’s World Cup-winning squad over the summer.

But Coman will face extra competition out wide with the Bundesliga champions welcoming ex-Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry into their squad after he spent a productive year on loan at Hoffenheim.

That is added to fellow wide men Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, Douglas Costa and Thomas Muller – with Bayern far from short of options down the flanks.

BeIn Sports even suggested earlier this week that Emery believes that a big-money move for Coman – who only started 10 Bundesliga matches in 2017-18 – is achievable.

And if his Instagram activity is anything to go by, the player himself would be open to a move.

In a post discussing who Arsenal should target in light of reports that Emery wants to sign a winger, one fan tagged the official accounts of both Coman and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele as suggestions.

And in a huge hint, Coman liked the fan’s comment – sparking a social media frenzy among excited Gunners supporters.

Whether that indicates a transfer is a genuine possibility remains to be seen, but it certainly suggests that the ex-Juventus forward would be receptive to a Premier League switch.

And Emery suggested that if a “big opportunity” were to arise in the market before August 9 – a category that a player of Coman’s promise would surely fall under – then he would pursue it.

Speaking about his transfer business recently, the Spanish boss said: “Today, we are OK.

“Maybe we can bring in one if there’s a very good possibility for them to help us, but the club has done a great job of signing new players and I am happy.

“We signed the players who we needed. At the moment, I think the squad is complete.

“We will only sign another player if there is an opportunity to bring in that one player, or two players. We will only sign a player in the next month if he’s a big opportunity.”
