Real Madrid eye Icardi

Real Madrid want to sign Mauro Icardi.

The Bernabeu club have so far failed to land a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Juventus in a £105m deal earlier this month.

Kylian Mbappe will not be leaving PSG, while Neymar has confirmed he will remain in Paris.

A deal for Eden Hazard is taking its time to materialise, so Real are hedging their bets and also moving for Icardi.

According to the report, Inter Milan could ask for as much as £98.5m for the Argentina international, who was overlooked for World Cup selection this summer.

Alisson message

New Liverpool signing Alisson has sent a message to fans after sealing his move to Anfield.

After days of speculation, Alisson has finally completed his move to Liverpool.

The Reds have signed the shot-stopper for a world record fee worth up to £66.8million from Roma.

“In terms of my life and my career, it’s a huge step for me being part of this club and this family,” the 25-year-old said after putting pen-to-paper on a six-year deal.

Following his long-awaited announcement late on Thursday evening, Alisson sent a message to his new fans at Liverpool.

“Hi Liverpool fans, Alisson Becker here,” he said while standing out on the training pitches at Melwood.

“I’m very very happy to be here with you guys and I can’t wait to be with you at Anfield. You’ll never walk alone!”

During his first interview with the club, Alisson assured supporters he would give everything during his time on the pitch.

“My message to everyone is that I’m really happy to be part of this team and this family,” he said.

Hazard fee agreed?

Eden Hazard could be closing in on a move to Real Madrid with Chelsea agreeing a fee worth £170million with the Spanish club, claim shock reports in France.

Hazard dropped subtle hints throughout the World Cup that he wants to leave Chelsea this summer by making a come-and-get-me plea to Real.

And with the La Liga giants selling Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus last week, they are on the lookout for a readymade replacement.

Chelsea have made it clear they want to keep the Belgium international and he is yet to meet with new manager Maurizio Sarri.

However, it appears as though Chelsea may have conceded defeat in persuading Hazard to stay, with Thibaut Courtois also possible involved.

That’s according to French outlet Le 10 Sport, who claim Chelsea have reached an agreement with Real.

City could sell Sterling

Manchester City could sell Raheem Sterling next summer after a contract development.

Sterling shelved negotiations before the World Cup in the hope his stock would rise on the back of a sparkling tournament.

His camp reckoned this would increase the pressure on City to accept his demands for improved personal terms to his current £170,000-a-week deal or attract interest from a big foreign club.

But while the England forward had a decent World Cup without lighting it up neither has happened, and despite scoring a record 23 goals for City last season as he enjoyed his best campaign, he has gone over 1,000 days since last netting for England, in November 2015.

City will now wait for Sterling, who is enjoying his post-World Cup break, to return to the negotiating table.

Although Sterling’s current contract runs until June 2020, City will sell him next summer if he does not agree new terms before then.

Eden Hazard to Real Madrid

Eden Hazard has been urged by Cesc Fabregas to snub Real Madrid’s advances and stay at Chelsea.

Hazard is wanted at Real Madrid and has made no secret that he is open to a move.

The player confirmed after the World Cup that his six years at Chelsea may come to an end this summer.

The Blues are desperate to retain their Belgium superstar and lock him down to a new contract.

And Spaniard Fabregas has confirmed he has tried to convince the 27-year-old to remain in west London.

“I won’t lie, I speak to him often,” Fabregas said at Chelsea’s first press conference on their tour of Australia.

“He is the best player at the club and we need a Chelsea to keep the best players.

“He knows the fans love him and a player we love to play with.

“For sure, we want him to stay.”

Klopp makes Fekir decision

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly made a decision on signing Nabil Fekir following the Reds’ acquisition of Alisson Becker.

Liverpool boss Klopp has splashed out a huge £66million to sign Alisson from Roma, with the Brazilian moving as a significant upgrade on Loris Karius.

The Reds have also been tipped to lure Fekir away from Lyon, with former Reds star Graeme Souness saying: “I think it is very interesting that he’s [Klopp] bought two [Fabinho and Naby Keita], and I hear today he is back in for Fekir.

“So that tells you he’s not happy with his midfield.”

Fekir nearly moved to Liverpool last month with the France international even posing in the club’s colours.

He also gave an interview to the club’s in-house television channel, in footage that surfaced on social media.

Klopp is adamant that Alisson, as signing No 4, is Liverpool’s last piece of transfer business for the summer.

And the Liverpool Echo claim the German will stick to his guns and refuse to revive interest in Fekir.

Martial decision

Anthony Martial looks set to get a final lifeline on his Manchester United career – despite wanting to quit the club.

Martial could be United’s only forward for the opening games of the season with Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford recovering from the World Cup and Alexis Sanchez yet to join up with the squad after visa issues.

And Mourinho looks set to start the Frenchman in a striker role for the opening games of the season.

The forward, left out of France’s World Cup-winning squad because of a lack of game-time at United, has been given a reprieve by Jose Mourinho, who is understood to have told Martial it is now or never for him this season.

With Cristiano Ronaldo having joined Juventus from Real Madrid in a £105m deal, the Serie A side have ended any interest in Martial, while Tottenham’s efforts to land the 22-year-old look to have been fruitless.

With so many personnel unavailable at the start of the season, Mourinho has little option but to use Martial to spearhead his attack, but that will present the forward with a final chance to prove his value to United.

Chelsea Rugani deal

Chelsea have handed Daniele Rugani a five-year deal after agreeing a fee with Juventus.

The Blues will pay Juve £44m for the defender and make him their second signing of the summer following Jorginho.

Chelsea are in Australia where Maurizio Sarri and a selection of players are talking to the media.
