Liverpool news: Did you see what Jurgen Klopp did during Alisson interview?

Liverpool finally announced the signing of Alisson late last night.

The shot-stopper joins from Roma in a world record deal worth up to £66.8million.

Alisson has signed a bumper six-year deal with the Reds as he becomes their fourth signing of the summer following the likes of Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri to Anfield.

“I’m really happy, it’s a dream come true to wear such a prestigious shirt for a club of this size that is used to always winning,” he said after securing his move.

“In terms of my life and my career it’s a huge step for me being part of this club and this family. You can be certain that I’ll give my all.”

Manager Klopp admits the Reds could not pass up the opportunity to sign Alisson when it was presented to them.

“At one point in the last few weeks it came up, the opportunity to sign one of the world’s best goalkeepers – then it’s not a long thought, to be honest, it’s only that you need to have a little talk with the owners!” he said.

“They were quite excited, so we did it.”

And hilariously, Klopp was so excited to meet Alisson that he interuppted the goalkeeper’s first interview with the club.

Alisson was speaking about how happy he was to join Liverpool when Klopp walked in before apologising.

The pair warmly embraced as they greeted each other.

“It’s really cool to have you here,” Klopp said to his new man.

Alisson has since spoken of his admiration of his boss.

“I have great expectations. I’ve followed him since Dortmund, I’ve always admired his style, even more now having played against him,” he said.

“He’s a very intelligent manager and he has a very clear strategy on the pitch. This team is very difficult to stop, with huge attacking power and defensive consistency.

“I’ll join this project straight away, I hope to adapt as soon as possible. I don’t anticipate any problems with the language or playing style.

“The difference in the Premier League is that it’s very competitive physically so I’ll try to improve in that aspect as well and adapt as soon as possible to the style of play.”
