Barcelona transfer news: Arsenal to sign Ousmane Dembele if La Liga giants allow one thing

Barcelona star Dembele has been linked with Arsenal having endured a difficult first season at the Nou Camp.

The France international, who helped his country win the World Cup in Russia earlier this month, signed from Borussia Dortmund a year ago.

However, his Barcelona career has gotten off to a rocky start with the player failing to meet expectations in Catalonia.

Arsenal are potential suitors with Unai Emery keen to sign a winger as he targets Premier League title glory at the first time of asking.

Barcelona, however, will be tough negotiators with Ernesto Valverde reluctant to let the 21-year-old jump ship.

And Football London journalist Charlie Watts claims Arsenal will only land Dembele if Barcelona decide to let him go out on loan.

He said: “Demebele on his own would cost far more than whatever money comes in from those potential sales.

“Mislintat would love Dembele, that would be his dream signing and he would slot in perfectly as well.

“But unless Barca decide to send him out on loan, it’s not going to happen.”

Much has been made of Dembele’s struggles at Barcelona.

However, speaking back in May, Valverde claimed the youngster would be a huge influence for the club.

“Dembele is a player with a lot of talent: great technique, can use both feet, he’s quick, he’s got that spark, he unbalances defences,” Valverde said.

“We think he can help us. He’s very young and he has a lot of time ahead of him still.

“All players need time to adapt; when you’re young there are things you need to learn, but the second goal he scored today was incredible.”
