Avengers 4 Doctor Strange ‘Endgame’ starts in THIS Ant-Man end credit scene

Ant-Man may be small and perfectly formed but he also has huge importance to what happens next in the Marvel Cinamatic Universe.

Infinity War left the entire universe devastated, not to mention cinema audiences aound the world.

There only appears to be one way to defeat Thanos and somehow restore all the fallen heroes. Fans know this because The Sorceror Supreme revealed it to Tony Stark just before he died.

Doctor Strange explained he gave the Time Stone to Thanos because “we are in the endgame now.”

This links directly to the end of Ant-Man 2.

WARNING SPOILERS:

Ant-Man and the Wasp won’t hit UK cinemas until August 3, but has been out worldwide for almost two weeks.

Full details about the two end credit scenes have revealed that the second one is hugely fun, but unimportnat to the wider MCU.

The first, however, is absolutely at the heart of how Avengers 4 will start.

The scene shows Hank and Hope Pym, along with the newly restored Janet Van Dyne, all turn to dust in The Snap while Scott is on a mission to the Quantum Realm.

This means it was essential that Ant-Man was trapped in the Quantum Realm. Whatever and WHENever he will find in there is central to the final battle.

Kevin Feige already clarified that being in the Quantum Realm did not save Scott, he would have been one of those to survive Thanos’ final blow anyway.

Just before Scott was stranded, Janet refers to the Time Vortex, warning him avoid it. Instead it seems likely that he will somehow use it to travel in time.

With increasing rumours Avengers 4 will pick up some years after the Snap, Scott could be dragged forward in time and he will emerge to a post-Snap world to find his daughter Cassie is now five or six years older. An older actress has already been cast o play the role.

A more intriguing option is that he will travel back and meet Captain Marvel in the 1980s, where her upcoming movie is set.

There are also set photos showing Ant-Man at the battle of New York from the first Avengers movie with the past versions of Iron Man and Thor. Will Scott travel back in time to warn them to protect the Infinity Stone in Loki’s staff?

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP IS OUT ON AUGUST 3.
