Mamma Mia 2 End Credits: Does Mamma Mia sequel have post credit scenes?

Fans of Abba are ready to head to the cinema again to hear lesser known tracks alongside some world-renowned ones.

The movie takes place ten years after the first Mamma Mia movie, and this time focusses on Sophie.

All the way back in 2008 when the first movie was released David Linde, co-chairman of Universal Pictures told, The Daily Mail there could be a sequel.

After waiting a decade, fans want to know: does Mamma Mia 2 has a post credit scene?

To the disappointment of many, the answer is no, but the movie doesn’t end with the final scene.

Right before the credits roll, the entire cast takes part in an ensemble musical number, lessening the sting of the end of the movie.

While post-credit scenes have become par for the course in major motion pictures, Mamma Mia 2 didn’t make use of them in any particular way.

Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried are both reprising their roles in Mamma Mia as the mother-daughter duo.

The three potential fathers from the first Mamma Mia Pierce Brosnan (Sam), Colin Firth (Harry) and Stellan Skarsgård (Bill) are all returning as well.

All the legacy character have a ‘young’ version of themselves.

The young cast features Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) as Young Sam, Hugh Skinner as Young Harry and Josh Dylan as Young Bill.

Young Donna is played by Lily James (War & Peace, Downton Abbey, Cinderella) with Alexa Davies as young Rose and Jessica Keenan Wynn as young Tanya.

Christine Baranski returned to her role as Tanya Chesham-Leigh and Dame Julie Walters picks up her role once again as Rosie Mulligan.

Preacher star Dominic Cooper has also reprised his role as Sky, Sophie’s fiancé.

On October 16, 2017, it was confirmed that worldwide star Cher joined the cast.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again is set for release Friday, July 20, 2018.
