Issues with communicating with others in-game first started to be flagged earlier tonight.
And it appears the problem of Fortnite chat not working is still causing issues for players on PC and PS4.
Epic Games have since confirmed that there is a current partial outage affecting chat functions.
“We’ve identified a hardware failure that’s impacting voice chat and are working to restore normal functionality,” a message from the Epic Games support team reads.
While it’s good news that the new problem has been spotted, it will certainly cause major issues for players trying to run duos and squads tonight.
Epic Games have not posted an ETA on how long this outage could last, or what has caused it.
It was also around an hour ago that the development team flagged various matchmaking issues across the Fortnite platforms.
These problems have been reportedly fixed, however, it’s unclear if this earlier outage is connected to what is affecting the Fortnite chat functions now.
A new update on tonight’s issues is expected to be released soon, if the current problems persist.
