Alisson to Liverpool: Chelsea to bid for Roma goalkeeper as Reds rush to secure transfer

Alisson to Liverpool is in the offing with the Reds agreeing a huge £66million deal with Roma.

The Brazil international is, however, also wanted by Chelsea with manager Maurizio Sarri expected to lose Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid.

As things stand, Liverpool are confident of securing the player’s signature with Champions League football expected to play a huge role.

The Reds finished fourth in the Premier League while Chelsea, despite scooping the FA Cup, slipped to fifth under Antonio Conte.

However, despite that, the Daily Mail say Chelsea are poised to make an offer for Alisson.

The Blues expect Courtois to jump ship, with the Belgium international keen on a La Liga return to be closer to his family.

Chelsea will reportedly join Liverpool in stumping up the required fee for Alisson.

And the Daily Mail say that, though no medical is currently pencilled in, the Reds are trying to sort arrangements as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, former Liverpool star David Thompson fears his old team will end up missing out on Alisson.

“I just don’t feel we will sign Alisson not sure why?” he tweeted.

“Maybe can’t see us paying 70 mill for a gk?”

Alisson is wanted as a replacement for Loris Karius, who was pictured looking sullen on his way to training today.

The German made two errors as Real Madrid beat Liverpool to win the Champions League in May.

And he was also at fault for a goal scored by Tranmere in a pre-season match.
