Snapchat is down yet again.
After the app hit major issues last week with a crash problem, it seems users are having trouble tonight.
Independent website Down Detector has received hundreds of reports that Snapchat is down.
The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect outages across the world.
The issues appear to be widespread with problems reported in the UK, other areas of Europe including France and Belgium.
Fans have now taken to social media to vent their frustrations.
Speaking on Twitter one user said: “Mine isn’t working my snaps weren’t sending now I’ve logged out and it won’t let me back in.”
Whilst another added: “Yup. @Snapchat is not working/down for a lot of my friends and i. Any idea when it’ll be back up??”
Snapchat has just confirmed the issue with a post saying: “Many Snapchatters are having trouble using the app as well as our support site.
“We’re working with a partner on the fix! In the meantime, we recommend staying logged in.”
It’s not been a good week for Snapchat with tonight’s outage the second in a week.
Last Wednesday users had problems when the Snapchat app continued to crash.
Snapchat confirmed that users were struggling with the app and stated they were working on a fix.
In a post on social media, the chat app said: “We’re aware many Snapchatters are experiencing crashing on the app. We’re looking into it and working on a fix!”
Snapchat recently confirmed that it is testing six-second long ads in Shows on its Discover section that won’t budge no matter how many times a user tries to tap to skip them.
This development has been coming for some time as Snapchat looks to placate advertisers who have grown frustrated by users who, on average, only stay on an ad for two seconds before skipping.
