Pokemon Go DOWN: Servers reported offline for Google account players

It appears problems have hit the Pokemon Go servers tonight, with many reporting problems signing in, and with the app being down.

From what has been posted online, this is currently affecting players using Google accounts.

“Getting an unable to authenticate error after a minute of loading,” One fans wrote.

Some believe it could have something to do with a wider server issue tonight.

Both Snapchat and Discord have been hit by problems around the same time as Pokemon Go.

So it’s possible that tonight’s server issues are limited to those players who are using Google account to play the popular app.

If the issue persists, you can expect some kind of news update from developers Niantic.

It’s currently unclear how long tonight’s outage could last, with no current ETA give for the Pokemon Go server issues.

A recent message from the Discord team had this to say of tonight’s issues: “We’ve identified the cause of our connectivity issues to @GCPcloud which is also impacting other popular apps such as SnapChat.

“No eta on the recovery time, but awaiting updates.”

This is in connection with the Google Cloud Platform.
