Aquaman poster SLAMMED by fans for THIS: Director James Wan forced to explain

The DC Extended Universe needs some big wins. The recent Justice League movie did not perform as hoped and fan confidence is shakey.

The next DCEU film out is James Wan’s Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa as the undersea hero.

The first official poster has just been released to great fanfare, but fans are already picking it apart and the tag “Aquaman poster bad” is already trending.

Aside from the frequent comparisons to the Finding Nemo promo posters, fans have two major problems with what is happening in the image. Can you spot them?

Fans have flooded social media with comments ridiculing Momoa’s leather trousers in an underwater shot. Comments included:

“This is a poster of a dude in the ocean wearing leather pants. I would’ve had him riding a hammerhead shark, flipping dolphins off….”

“Yeah why tf is he in pants? Have him in his full suit uppercutting a shark or something badass like that.”

“Bet his legs are sore after wearing those leather trousers under water.”

“A bit counter productive wearing leather – that would really restrict movement.”

Wan finally responded and shut it all down with one comment.

After one fan asked: “I still don’t get why he’s wearing leather pants underwater.”

Wan responded: “Because he’s Jason Foockin’ Momoa!!! You want him wearing swimming trunks?? or pantless! He’s already half naked for goodness sake. Haha.”

The other issue bothering fans is why Momoa appears bone dry at the bottom of the ocean.

Wan, again, has the answer.

The director posted: “Do you know that when you’re underwater, you don’t actually look wet? The water isn’t beading off your skin, giving you the typical glossy wet look you’re familiar with.

“Check it out the next time you’re in a pool. (And that concludes my amateur science lesson for the day).”

AQUAMAN IS OUT IN THE UK ON DECEMBER 14
