PUBG Mobile Update: Tencent Beta patch notes reveal 0.7.0 download changes

PUBG Mobile remains a very popular game despite the heavy competition from Fortnite on iOS.

However, the Tencent download is currently the only version available on Android, with Fortnite Mobile coming to the platform later this year.

And with that in mind, the development team have moved to provide as many new features through new PUBG Mobile updates as possible.

One of the most significant changes made to the game of late includes the Royale Pass, which has dramatically boosted player spending.

According to data research firm Sensor Tower, PUBG Mobile’s player spending for the first week of its new Royale Pass “increased 365 per cent over the $1.3 million average it earned in the preceding three weeks, bringing in approximately $6.1 million gross worldwide on both platforms.”

“At present, we estimate that PUBG Mobile is now earning more than $700,000 per day in player spending across both stores worldwide and has grossed more than $16 million to date,” the Sensor Tower report adds.

“As players of the game are aware, Tencent appears to be continuing to fine-tune its monetisation strategy, adding items such as weapon skins, player emotes, and more.”

And the first of these tweaks could be released as part of the next major PUBG Mobile update.

A new beta of the game is available to download now from the Google Play Store and provides a short list of things being changed.

A new mode, weapon and UI mechanic are listed, with more likely included before the official launch.

Players will be able to test a new mode called War, which is described as a fast version of the existing Arcade Mode.

War Mode also looks set to be only accessible during certain times of the day, although it’s unclear if this is something just being tested during the beta.

There will also be a new SLR Sniper Rifle added, and a new portable Closet, which could work well with the Royale Pass.

This new feature will allow players to change how they look during an active game, which isn’t something that’s currently available in PUBG Mobile.

The official PUBG beta patch notes can be found below:

  • Arcade Mode – War – A new, faster-paced variation of Arcade mode.
  • New Weapon – Added the SLR Sniper Rifle.
  • Portable Closet – Players can now put outfits in their Portable Closets and instantly change clothes during combat.

PUBG Mobile is a free-to-play game currently available to play on iOS and Android, as well as via a PC emulator.
