Mamma Mia 2: Meryl Streep for ‘emotional moment’ with Amanda Seyfried in Here We Go Again

Amanda Seyfried, who plays her daughter Sophie, revealed whilst promoting the movie in London that the pair’s duet of My Love, My Life was very emotionally charged during filming.

“Singing the song My Love, My Life was the most emotional thing for me, and my favourite moment,” she said, according to The Guardian.

The tracklisting for Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again reveals that the song will be sung relatively late in the movie, and could be tied-in to Sophie’s pregnancy.

It may even be the same sequence Christine Baranski was referring to earlier this year when interviewed on Live With Kelly And Ryan.

“We just sat together on the set. For a few days, we were shooting a scene in a chapel,” she recalled.

“It was Meryl singing with Amanda Seyfried, and there was just Cher hanging out with the coffee cups!”

The new film is simultaneously a prequel and a sequel, with Lily James playing the younger Donna.

Streep has been full of praise for the former Downton Abbey star, saying: “Some people sing from the bottom of their feet, right up. She shakes the rafters, she’s amazing.

“Lily has a great energy. And her spirit is what young Donna was.”

James said: “When I found out I would be part of the sequel, i was terrified and very excited.

“Donna is a character so beloved and Meryl Streep is the best actress of all time.”

Also back for the sequel are Julie Walters, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgard, Colin Firth and Dominic Cooper.

Cher plays Donna’s mother Ruby, with Andy Garcia also in a supporting role.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! is out on Friday.
