Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament results, winners and current standings

Epic Games announced a new Fortnite series that would be shown on Twitch and included some big prize money earlier this month.

And the first week of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish just ended with full results confirmed by the Epic team.

For those that don’t know, the Summer Skirmish series includes a range of new eSports competitions which will include top prize money.

The 8-week series we’ll be awarding $8,000,000 in prize money in total, with today Summer Skirmish including a $250,000 Duos competition.

And for those who want to sign up, Epic Games have already confirmed that they have a set list of people who have already been invited.

So unless you have received a tournament pass from them, there’s no need to inquire how to join the summer event.

“Participants will be made up of community creators and Fortnite players who have demonstrated their competitive prowess,” Epic Games confirms in a new message.

“The format and competitors may change from week-to-week, so stay on your toes.”

As mentioned above, Epic Games will be using different formats each week and have also past on some fan feedback.

This includes trying to improve the Summer Skirmish servers before the next event, as well as other issues that arose during the livestream.

And as noted by Epic Games, next week’s Summer Skirmish will include a new format, so those teams that did well this week might not fare as well later in July.

The big game company confirmed earlier this year that they wanted to expand more into eSports, offering up a large purse as support for those wanting to participate.

“Grab your gear, drop in and start training,” Epic Games posted at the time.

“Since the launch of Fortnite Battle Royale we’ve watched the passion for community competition grow and can’t wait to empower you to battle with the best.

“In the 2018 – 2019 season, Epic Games will provide $100,000,000 to fund prize pools for Fortnite competitions.

“We’re getting behind competitive play in a big way, but our approach will be different – we plan to be more inclusive, and focused on the joy of playing and watching the game.”
