WWE news: The Rock lifts lid on real-life rivalry with John Cena before Skyscraper release

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time as he is a 10-time world champion and has had some legendary wars against the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Chris Jericho and many more.

Johnson is also one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today after taking part in huge blockbuster hits like the Fast & Furious franchise, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Rampage.

While promoting his upcoming film Skyscraper he was asked by a fan if there is still bad blood between the two WWE legends.

The ex-WWE Champion claims he didn’t like what Cena said about him during some radio interviews a few years ago but insists they have since buried the hatchet.

The Leader of the Cenation will star in The Janson Directive film which is being produced by The Rock’s company Seven Bucks Productions.

He said during his appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: “No, I think we’ve squashed that.

“As a matter of fact John is going to star in one of my movies that I’m producing, and I think he’s going great, he’s done great in his transition and he really wants to continue to work hard.

“I had left, and he had done a series of interviews, radio interviews, and I just felt, somebody had referenced me and said, ‘Hey, is Rock ever coming back?’ And he said, ‘I’m not quite too sure’, but I just didn’t like how he said it, and it stuck with me.

“So years later when I went back [to WWE], I talked to Vince McMahon and we thought, ‘Well what if we actually took that and created this kind of thing?’ And I said ‘Perfect’.

“Fortunately having the biggest box office record in WWE history, which was awesome, and then once it was all done, like all silly beefs like that we were so cool.”

The Rock beat Cena in a dream match at WrestleMania 28 but The Champ managed to even the score the next year at WrestleMania 29.
