Lithuania BACKS UK: President says it could EXPEL Russian diplomates over nerve agent atta

Theresa May expelled 23 diplomats over the poisoning attack on a former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.

Mrs May accused the Kremlin for the attack on the former Russian spy and his daughter after they were poisoned in Salisbury with the military- grade nerve agent Novichok.

When Grybauskaite was asked whether Lithuania would take similar action as Britain, she said: “We are considering such measures.”

The Baltic nation of Lithuania, is a former Soviet state and shares a border with Russia. It is a member of NATO and is under threat from Russia as Vladimir Putin has made no secret of his desire to return the Baltic states back under Russia’s influence.

Theresa May arriving in Brussels today to hold crunch talks on Brexit and the transitional deal in place said the Russian attack was “brazen and reckless”.

She accused said the nerve agent attack showed “Russian aggression against European neighbours” as she accused the Kremlin of attempted murder.

Russia denies involvement in the attack and its ambassador to the UN has branded the UK’s accusations as “unjustified”.
