BREAKING: Austin bombings suspect SHOT DEAD by police after EXPLOSION and shootout

After six Austin bombings in a matter of days, police shot dead the suspected serial bomber who has terrified the Texas city this month.

Police and FBI tracked the man to Round Rock, a town near Austin, where they attempted to detain him.

An explosion then rang out followed by a shootout on the highway near the town.

The man was killed after exchanging gunfire with officers.

The Austin bombings began on March 2 when the first package exploded, killing Anthony Stephan House as he picked it up at his home.

On March 12, two explosions took place in quick succession, the first killing teen Draymen Mason and injuring a woman, and the second injuring a pensioner.

On March 18, a tripwire-activated explosion left two men in their 20s injured.

And earlier this week a package erupted at a FedEx facility in San Antonio, injuring one man.
