Royal wedding: Bookies say Meghan Markle has ‘made her mind up’ about £320K dress designer

The royal wedding of Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, is drawing ever nearer, and with just under two months to go, it seems the wedding dress designer has been chosen.

Meghan has “made her mind up” about who will design her dress, according to a Ladbrokes representative.

Meanwhile, betting has been suspended on the dress – with Ralph & Russo at 1/3 for the favourite, followed by Erdem (3/1), Roland Mouret (4/1) and Victoria Beckham (6/1).

“It looks as though Meghan’s made her mind up as far as her dress is concerned, so we’ve decided to pull the plug for the time being,” explained Alex Apati of Ladbrokes.

So which designer will it be? Betters’ favourite Ralph & Russo, a British fashion designer who created Meghan’s £56,000 engagements photos dress, are believed to have been “chosen”, according to reports from a royal insider.

The label, famous for their haute couture, were “chosen” by the LA born actress earlier this month, a royal insider told the Daily Mail.

The brand was founded in Mayfair, London in 2007 by Australian couple Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo.

The design duo have previously created designs for the likes of Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, Celine Dion and Penelope Cruz.

Their couture – or custom made – dresses are believe to start at prices of £30,000, with Meghan’s gown expected to cost around £320,000.

It seems Meghan has chosen a different designer to her future sister in law Kate Middleton’s wedding dress in 2011.

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wore an Alexander McQueen dress for her wedding day to Prince William.

Her wedding dress, which was made from silk, tulle, organza and satin gazar, is reported to have cost a whopping £250,000.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding cake designer was announced today by the official Kensington Palace Twitter account.

Claire Ptak, a pastry chef and owner of Violet Cakes, will create the royal wedding cake for the couple, and you could order a very similar creation from their special orders menu.

The announcement read: “For their wedding cake Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen pastry chef Claire Ptak, owner of the London-based bakery @violetcakes.

“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle have asked Claire to create a lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright flavours of spring. It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers.”
