Fortnite Mobile vs PUBG Mobile – Battlegrounds on iOS has one big advantage

Mobile has now got a new Battle Royale rival, with PUBG Mobile available now in the US on both iOS and Android.

PUBG Mobile is also available in the UK from the Google Play Store, while its App Store description says the game “perfectly recreates” the PC version.

This means PUBG Mobile has voice chat for squad communication, plus extra mobile optimisations like aim assist and auto-pick up items.

But there is one area where PUBG Mobile has a big advantage over Fortnite Mobile, and that’s in the game’s required specs.

Fortnite Mobile can run on a number of different iOS devices, but its minimum iPhone requirement is the iPhone 6S.

PUBG Mobile, meanwhile, can run on an iPhone 5S – a model two years older than the 6S.

While PUBG Mobile can run on the iPhone 5S, it is recommended that players use the iPhone 6.

Which, still, is a model a year older than what is needed to run Fortnite Mobile.

These lower required specs means that PUBG Mobile will be playable than more iOS users than Fortnite Mobile.

Sign-up for Fortnite Mobile began last Monday, with the initial codes being sent out a few days afterwards.

Fortnite Mobile is described as the full Battle Royale experience with no compromises.

It features the same map, the same content, the same unlockables, gameplay and even the same weekly updates.

Anybody yet to receive a download code will be placed on the waiting list.

Invitations will be sent out based on sign up order, device models and even the proximity to the data centre.

But while, currently, the only way to play Fortnite Mobile currently is to receive an invite, that won’t be the case forever.

Epic Games in an official post explained that Fortnite Mobile will eventually be open to everyone.

They said: “As soon as we are able to handle the scale of players, the game will be open to everyone.”
