Fortnite update: New maps WILL be added by Epic Games, could this be included?

players earlier this year saw the updated in a major patch rolled out by Epic Games.

The Fortnite map update, released in January, saw eight new areas added to Battle Royale while existing ones also got a refresh.

New areas that were added include Tilted Towers, a city location that Fortnite fans had been calling for.

And it looks like Epic Games has more map updates planned for Fortnite.

In a post on the developer’s official website, Epic answered a number of frequently asked questions about Fortnite.

And under the header ‘will you add more maps’, the Fortnite team said: “Yes, but not right away.

“We’ll also be looking into improving our current map, including adding more points of interest.

“The latest point of interest is Lucky Landing.”

The news will be music to fans’ ears who are hoping to see the battlefield in Fortnite freshened up.

And fans have already been mocking up locations they’d like to see added to Fortnite Battle Royale.

On the Fortnite Battle Royale Reddit page, one Redditor has received almost 20,000 upvotes for a map locale suggestion they created.

The idea is for an Old West location in Fortnite Battle Royale called Tumbleweed Turf.

It would be located east of Anarchy Acres and north of Tomato Town.

Inside Tumbleweed Turf players would find a saloon, a sheriff’s office, a bank, a general store, a hotel, a hitching post and a post office.

Here is what Redditor shutthecussup said Tumbleweed Turf would feature:

• “Buildings in this small old western pitstop create an alley perfect for shootouts”

• “Stop by the Saloon to have a slurp juice with the boys”

• “Mine your way into the Bank’s vault before some other outlaw steals your treasure”

• “Pick up some ammo at the general store”

The Redditor added: “By limiting the back openings of the buildings and having shared walls between stores it could force people towards the main alley for classic western shootouts.

“Having a western themed location in this area of the map could help keep the empty countryside aspects of this party of the map while adding a bit more interest.”

The Wild West themed location for Fortnite sparked a huge fan response from the game’s community on Reddit.

Commenting on a Reddit post about the locale suggestion, one Fortnite fan wrote: “Damn this such a good idea good work”.

Another wrote: “Amazing idea! I never wanted them to add anything over there but this is just amazing I can’t say no! Someone tag an epic employee quick!”

While one added: “I’d like a western map. Caves, canyons, locomotives, tumbleweeds – would be awesome.”

Epic Games have proven great at engaging with the Fortnite community.

So it remains to be seen whether this positive fan response could have an impact on future updates or not.
