Fortnite news – Epic Games warning, Mobile iOS code boost, jetpack latest

Fortnite fans have been given a warning by Epic Games as the hit Battle Royale game continues to surge in popularity.

Fortnite is fast becoming one of the world’s most popular games, and the recent launch of the Fortnite Mobile version will only add to its fanbase.

Fortnite Mobile is only available right now on iOS, with iPhone and iPad users getting the portable version of Fortnite ahead of their Android rivals.

Codes to download the iOS Fortnite app were sent out by Epic Games last week after sign-up for the invite event began last Monday.

Those who have been invited through the first waves of emails also got a few additional codes to share with friends.

But Epic Games are warning players not to waste them.

Only certain iOS devices can currently run Fortnite on Mobile.

And the Fortnite development team warned: “Got a friend code to send? Make sure your friends have a device that can play Fortnite.

“Fortnite on Mobile is currently ONLY compatible with: iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices or later.”

In a post on their official website, Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite will be coming to Android devices “in the next few months”.

In other Fortnite news, Epic Games recently explained how fans can improve their chances of being sent a code for the iOS Mobile app.

The Fortnite Mobile iOS selection process has been detailed by Epic Games.

In a new FAQ, Epic has explained how its Fortnite Mobile iOS selection process works.

According to the post, invitations will be sent out based on sign up order, device models and even the proximity to the data centre.

“Factors that contribute to the order in which players receive invites include sign-up order, proximity to a data centre, and device model,” the post reads.

“If your friend got invited by Epic, check with them to see if they have a friend code to share with you.”

Finally, Fortnite fans have also been given an update on how the upcoming jetpack item for Battle Royale could completely change combat.

The jetpack release date was originally planned for earlier this month, but got delayed by the Fortnite team due to a “last minute design issue”.

And now Fortnite’s legendary Twitch streamer Ninja has discussed how the jetpack could change things up in Battle Royale.

Speaking to Forbes, Ninja said that jet fuel could replace building materials, and that jetpack use might be limited in the early stages.

He certainly doesn’t think it will break the game, speculating that it might only take you five floors before running out of fuel.

Fortnite Twitch star Ninja said: “It might take fuel, it might be able to pause in mid-air and shoot accurately, but in my eyes I don’t see it being broken.

“I see the jet fuel really just being a replacement for materials – in an early game you’re very limited, mobility wise, chasing people down on a roof because you don’t have that many mats.

“Let’s say you pick up a jetpack, you have X amount fuel, it will only take you maybe five floors, five materials before you have to find a place to refuel.

“They’re not stupid, they’re not going to introduce something that will break the game – I think that’s why they delayed it.”
