Samsung Galaxy S9 has this advantage over EVERY new iPhone

After weeks of waiting the is finally here.

new flagship is packed with the latest technology including a faster processor, updated camera and a new position for the all-important fingerprint scanner which now makes it far easier to use.

Like most modern devices the new S9 is also water resistant, can charge wirelessly and has an all-day battery life.

However, there is one other feature that you won’t find on any new iPhone or most rival Android devices for that matter.

Tucked on the base of the S9 is a headphone port which means users can plug in their cans without needing an annoying adapter.

Ths is breaking a trend with almost every other manufacturer including Apple, HTC, Google and Sony now ditching this popular port making Samsung’s S9 quite unique.

In a recent interview with Express.co.uk Kate Beaumont, Director Commercial Strategy, Product & Planning at Samsung told us: “We’re looking to be really customer focused that’s why we’re supplying a AKG headset in the box, we’ve got that partnership and it’s a really good.

“Keeping the headphone port just gives everyone more flexibility.”

Along with Samsung one of the only other firms that appears passionate about the headphone port is Chinese manufacturer OnePlus.

They recently gave their verdict on why they feel the need to offer this way of connecting headphones saying: “When we surveyed the OnePlus community, 70 per cent of users told us that their priority was sound quality.

“On the whole, wireless earbuds aren’t there yet to provide the same quality of audio.

“Keeping the headphone jack allows our users to continue to take full advantage of the excellent range of audio choices on the market.”

A recent tweet by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei also hints that the headphone port is here to stay on this year’s devices.

“Headphone jack demand stable YoY as per my Twitter followers. You’d expect it to decrease, no?” he said.

As more and more flagship smartphone ditch the 3.5mm headphone port, it appears consumers are still very much in favour of the once-ubiquitous port.

It seems unlikely OnePlus’ co-founder would tweet a survey showing huge support for the headphone port, only for the company to remove it from its next phone a few months later.

So, if you want a phone with that 3.5mm socket it appears your options are becoming more limited but Samsung and OnePlus appear committed to this way of listening to music.
