Barcelona news: Neymar makes Real Madrid promise to Lionel Messi on one condition – report

Real Madrid have been widely linked with a summer move for the Paris Saint-Germain star.

Neymar only signed for the Parisian last year for a world-record transfer fee of £198million.

However, a failure to win the Champions league, coupled with a number of on-field fall-outs with Edinson Cavani, has led to speculation that he is unhappy in the French capital.

And Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claim that the Brazilian will head back to La Liga at the end of the season.

Real will have to break the world record fee if they are to prise Neymar away from PSG.

But the 26-year-old has apparently told former ally Messi of his intentions.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Neymar wants to return to Barcelona to play alongside Messi once again.

The attacker has apparently promised his former team-mates that he will turn down Real if they take him to the Nou Camp.

Neymar hopes to step into the shoes of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when they call time on their careers.

The forward is expected to win the Ballon d’Or in the foreseeable future, but he feels he will have to be at Real or Barcelona to claim the award.
