Xperia XZ2 release news – This deal offers Sony fans the ultimate PlayStation bundles

Sony unveiled its new flagship smartphones last month at Mobile World Congress with the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact both going on sale early next month.

These latest devices bring a swathe of new features to the Xperia brand including one of the fastest processors ever and a new camera which can film footage in full 4K HDR quality – the first time this has been achieved in a phone.

A new design also features with soft curves replacing Sony’s usual sharp edges, plus the XZ2 gets a glass finish which now allows it to be charged wirelessly.

This larger device can also record super slow-motion footage at 960 frames per second and in full 1080p HD quality.

Sony looks set to release full pricing for these phones very soon but there is one piece of good news if you are thinking of buying one.

Anyone who pre-orders the XZ2 or XZ2 Compact will get a PS4 or PlayStation VR bundle for free.

The deal includes either a PlayStation 4 and Gran Turismo Sport bundle or, for those who already own a PlayStation 4, the option of a PlayStation VR Starter Pack.

In addition, Sony will be offering all Xperia customers purchasing certain Xperia XZ handsets a PlayStation Plus 12 month membership (worth £49.99) from launch at no additional cost, bringing them further into the incredible world of entertainment offered by Sony.

PlayStation Plus membership gives qualifying Xperia owners the ability to access PlayStation Plus benefits including access to online multiplayer gameplay on PlayStation 4, monthly games for PlayStation 4 at no extra cost, and exclusive discounts on PlayStation Store.

The PlayStation Plus offer will be redeemable through the Xperia Lounge app, which comes pre-installed on all Xperia smartphones.

Speaking about the deal Warren Saunders Country Head for UK and Ireland at Sony Mobile Communications, said: “Sony has consistently been at the forefront of the gaming market.

“From the original PlayStation through to today’s PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation VR, and the latest PlayLink mobile gaming titles, Sony has pushed the boundaries of gaming as we know it.

“For several years now, we’ve positioned our Xperia smartphones as the window into the wider Sony world and with the launch of these new handsets, we’re looking to extend that message to our gaming fans and reward them for choosing a Sony device.”
