Fortnite news – Epic Games to follow up Ninja Twitch record-breaker with THIS

is surging in popularity, with hundreds of thousands of gamers tuning in to Twitch this week to watch Ninja and Drake play Battle Royale.

More than 600,000 people tuned into Twitch to watch Ninja and Drake play Fortnite Battle Royale.

The Twitch stream of Fortnite fell short of the most ever watched Twitch broadcast, which stands at 1.1million.

However, Ninja’s team-up with Drake on Fortnite is believed to be the biggest audience for a personal, non-tournament stream.

And now Fortnite makers Epic Games have revealed their own plans for a celebrity-filled stream.

In a blog post, the Fortnite team revealed plans for the Fortnite Party Royale.

This will see 50 celebrities and 50 pro-gamers face off against one another at E3 in the Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am.

In the blog post, they said: “Join us this E3 for the ultimate Fortnite Party Royale, pairing some of the world’s greatest athletes and entertainers with top Fortnite Battle Royale players from across the globe.

“Teams will clash in the premier Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am in Los Angeles during E3. One team will rise to the top for ultimate bragging rights. Who will claim Victory Royale? We’ll soon begin building the teams, so stay tuned for more information on the event.

“And one more thing… details on the first season of competitive play coming in the next few weeks!”

In other Fortnite news this week, Fortnite Mobile on iOS went live yesterday after sign-up began earlier this week.

And, even with limited invites and a friends codes system, the Fortnite Mobile App managed to top the iOS App Store chart tonight.

It also points to Epic Games providing enough downloads and invites to make a real impact with fans.

Sitting at the top of the free apps chart for games on the App Store even for a few hours is not an easy feat, with fierce competition already in place.

And it appears that Fortnite could be staying top of the charts for a while yet.

That’s because Epic Games will be inviting more fans to download the game over the coming days.

Players will get sent an email with the official download link included, which will give the option of grabbing the App.

For those who missed out, more opportunities will be coming soon, while friends who did manage to get in should be able to provide a code to those they want to invite.

Ahead of its launch, Epic Games promised that Fortnite Mobile would offer the “same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates” as the console versions.

Fortnite Mobile is also heading to Android, but so far Epic Games have only released the iOS version.

Here is what iPhone or iPad you’ll need to play Fortnite Mobile on iOS:

• Fortnite mobile players on Apple devices will need an internet connection and iOS 11

• Fortnite mobile players for iPhones will need to be running at least an iPhone 6S or an iPhone SE

• Fortnite mobile players on iPads will need to be running at least one of these devices: iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 or 2017 iPads
