How Kate Middleton is morphing into the Queen: Pregnant Duchess looks just like monarch

Kate Middleton, 36, is married to Queen Eliabeth II’s grandson, Prince William.

The younger royal is currently pregnant with her third child.

She is also in line to be the wife of a reigning monarch, making her a very high ranking royal. And it seems that Kate has been taking tips from the Queen’s wardrobe in preparation.

Kate, who had a part-time job in fashion buying before she married Prince William, has worn many outfits that distinctly hark back to style rules laid down by Her Highness, who is 91.

For one, the Duchess of Cambridge is very fond of bright colours – just like the Queen.

Kate, has whole heartedly adopted the power of the bright statement coat, a garment that makes up most of the Queen’s wardrobe.

The pair have been seen in matching fuchsia coat and similar red ensembles.

Kate is also a big fan of matching accessories, as is Her Majesty. In recent public appearances since her pregnancy Kate has worn shoes dyed to match her garments.

This is an old-fashioned style trick, and one the Queen has adopted herself in the past.

Unlike Meghan Markle, Kate is a fan of the monotone look, wearing one colour head-to-toe, like the Her Majesty often does.

Why does the Queen always wear bright colours

Countess Sophie of Wessex revealed last year the reasoning behind her colourful outfit choices.

In a documentary titled The Queen at 90, she said: “Don’t forget that when she turns up somewhere, the crowds are two, three, four, ten, 15 deep, and someone wants to be able to say they saw a bit of the Queen’s hat as she went past.

“She needs to stand out for people to be able to say ‘I saw the Queen’.”

Kate Middleton is also a fan of the same nail polish the Queen wears, which the royals have adopted to look polished but understated.

Manicurist and make-up artist Marina Sandoval claimed to have used Essie’s “Allure” mixed with Boujois’ Rose Lounge on Kate’s nails for her wedding back in 2011.

Kate Middleton and the Queen’s beauty roles include never wearing coloured nail polish.

The reason is, according to OK!, is royal etiquette – fake nails or coloured nails are just not appropriate.
