Fortnite update 3.3: Servers going DOWN as Epic Games release new patch

A new maintenance period has been scheduled by Epic Games for today.

This is so that the new Fortnite update 3.3 can be launched on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

From what we know so far, the development team will be taking the game offline at around 9am, GMT.

“We know you’re eager to uncover those Supply Llamas and play the new Spring it On Questline,” a message from Epic Games reads.

“So we wanted to give you a quick update. The issue that prevented us from pushing v3.3 yesterday has been fixed and we plan to ship v3.3 tomorrow at a to-be-determined time.”

It’s unclear if players will be kicked out of games 20 minutes ahead of time, although this is something that has happened in the past.

It’s expected that Epic Games will release the new patch notes following the launch of the game’s next update too.

From what we already know, the development team will be deploying new supply drops, a C4 weapon, as well as a range of bugfixes.

The Supply Llamas are a new drop that will be deployed as part of the new Fortnite Update. They will be found around the map and will function like Treasure Chests.

Speaking about the new Llama drops, systems designer Eric Williamson confirmed: “Next week’s update will have – llamas.

“These are randomly found around the island and will help you out in a pinch.

“They’re interacted with like treasure chests and ammo cans so let us know what you find.”

Epic Games also confirmed that they would be removing Smoke Grenades in the next update, due to them not being used very often.

Other notable bug fixes included in patch 3.3 will be quieter audio for weapons, as well as a glitch when placing stairs.

Fans of Save the World can also expect High Level Stat Caps improvements and Throwing Star fixes.

Epic Games is also investigating problems with Time Played stats not being displayed.

An issue with rifle headshots is also under investigation, as well as chests and drawers not opening during the early game.

Fortnite downtime, ahead of a patch launching, tends to last for around two to three hours.

Servers are usually back online by midday in the UK on the day of a Fortnite patch release.

It’s still unclear if the new Jetpack item will be included, although no teases have been dropped suggesting it will be.

It was hoped that Epic Games would have finished tinkering with their latest item, however, a recent post on Reddit suggests it won’t be arriving until later in March.

New reports suggest that the Fortnite jetpack will use fuel, and is not something that can be used indefinitely.

This will mean it will need refuelling for continued use – however, the way it gets refuelled is unclear.

Fortnite players may need to pick up a certain item to recharge the jetpack or it may regenerate over time.
