Pokemon Go news: Niantic update gives Trainers HUGE catch boost and Gen 3 clue

developer Niantic has made it easier to capture certain Pokemon.

Niantic has given Android users a boost by moving certain Pokemon closer to the front of the screen.

According to a new report on ComicBook, the changes were introduced to combat a problem for Android users with longer, narrow screens.

Niantic has changed the distance of Legendary Pokemon like Rayquaza and Groudon, not to mention Tropius, Wailmer, and Hariyama.

While Groudon has temporarily left the game, it’s good news for fans hoping to capture Rayquaza before it leaves on March 16.

Likewise, Niantic has tweaked the dodge distance of Pokemon, making them less likely to disappear off screen.

Interestingly, this includes missing Gen 3 Pocket Monster Ninjask.

The news comes as Niantic brings the Windy Weather event to an end on March 16.

As part of the event, wind-type Pokemon are more likely to hatch from eggs.

Wind-type Pokemon are also more likely to appear in the wild and in Gym Raids.

Fans also gain double XP for performing tasks within Pokemon Go, and can capture Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza.

The Windy Weather event will be followed by the third Community event, which focuses on Bulbasaur.

Taking place for three hours on March 25, the next Community Day event will give fans a chance to capture more of the Grass-type Pokemon.

Bulbasaur or one of its evolutions will also have an exclusive move.

And if it’s anything like previous Community Day events, fans should be able to capture a Shiny Bulbasaur.

To make things easier, Lures will last for the entirety of the event, and players will receive triple XP for capturing Pokemon.
