PUBG update LIVE: New PC patch released – Here’s what it does

The new Battlegrounds patch released today includes some new features fans will want to know about.

This would be PUBG PC update 7, which was released in the early hours this morning, following three hours of server downtime.

Official patch notes for the latest PUBG build have been released by the support team, and confirm that a range of new emotes, among other features, have been released.

12 default emotes have now been released, with more being added in the future.

To use the new emote menu, hold down the ~ button and left-clicking the emote you want activated.

Away from the new emotes, fans will be able to use a new in-game friends list for the first time this week.

Tonight’s patch is also focused on bringing various optimisations to the PUBG server and client.

According to Bluehole Inc, this will include mitigating lag and stutter instances and alleviated frame drop and lag occurrences happening when players are pushed together.

This usually starts from the second half of a match, or in dynamic situations, like when groups of players meet in a firefight.

This should mean a smoother environment to play in, although it won’t include the new limb and vehicle penetration system.

This has been pushed back due to changes being made, so fans will have to wait to hear more about this.

Another 37 achievements have also been added to the Steam Gaming list today, meaning more for hardcore players to try their luck at.
